Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we don't, and why — in plain language, not legalese.

The short version

Disco Doodle doesn't require an account, doesn't use cookies, doesn't run ads, and doesn't sell or share data with advertisers. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. Below is a full, honest list of the handful of things that do happen behind the scenes.

Basic site analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies or any persistent ID to track you across visits — it just counts pageviews and reports aggregate info like country, browser, and page load speed. There's no way for us to identify you individually from this data.

The visitor counter

The "Sketch Ideas Generated" number on each generator page is a simple shared counter stored in our database — it just goes up by one each time someone spins. It isn't tied to you, your device, or anything else about you.

Fonts

Our two brand fonts (Poppins and Shrikhand) are loaded live from Google's font servers rather than hosted on our own. That means your browser makes a direct request to Google to fetch them, and — like any request to any server on the internet — Google's servers see your IP address as part of that request. This is a standard technical side effect of how web fonts work, not something we've set up to track you.

If you submit art to the Gallery

The submission form is entirely optional and only collects what you choose to type in: an optional name or nickname (you can leave it blank), which pack inspired your art, and the photo itself. Here's where that goes:

Nothing you submit appears publicly until it's manually approved. No email address or account is required to submit.

A note for younger visitors

We know kids and classrooms use Disco Doodle. The submission form never requires an email address, real name, or any account — the name field is optional and can be anything (or left blank), and every submission is reviewed by a person before it's shown to anyone else.

Where this site runs

Disco Doodle is hosted on GitHub Pages, which — like any web host — logs standard technical request data as part of serving the site. This is normal web infrastructure, not something specific to Disco Doodle.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect ever changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
